Step Off The Mountain

In this vision, I opened and walked through a door and found myself upon a mountain. I walked until I reached a ledge, not liking heights, I forced a quick glance downward and hastily stepped backward. The Lord was standing to my right and handed me a white cane. “Close your eyes and feel ahead with this.” I shut my eyes tightly and tapped the cane on the ground before me, while cautiously inching my way toward the ledge. I moved ever so slowly, expecting to tap thin air at any moment, but instead finding solid ground. After taking several more baby steps, I knew I must be well over the edge, and nervously decided to take a peek. Opening and shutting my eyes quickly, I simultaneously felt fear and awe at what I saw. I stood, mid air, several feet away from the ledge.

In the vision, the white cane represents (faith) which when put into action displaced the lie of the ledge and revealed the truth (terra firma). By utilizing faith, I was able to discern the invisible reality.

2 Kings 6:17
And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray,
open his eyes that he may see.” Then the
Lord opened the eyes of the young man,
and he saw.

The enemy will attempt to use different schemes to undermine our walk and blind us from the truth.

2 Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Hebrews 11:8
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was
called to go out to the place which he
would receive as an inheritance. And he
went out, not knowing where he was going.

Abrahams “faith” by obedience will always be linked to the need to take a step forward. Faith should compels us to do something. What about you? Will you, put your faith into action and step off the mountain?
